PLEASE HELP!!!! My laptop came with windows vista. I was able to make dvd's using WDM for AVI files with no problem. I upgraded to W7 and now when I try to make a dvd i get no sound!!! I've tried everything, and its to a point that I'm wasting dvds. IT WORKED BEFORE WHEN MY OS WAS VISTA, clear movies and sound. BUT NOW USING WINDOWS 7 I GET NO SOUND AFTER MAKING A DVD.

Hello gel954,

·         Are you able to hear the sound when you create a preview with the DVD Maker?

·         Have you installed the latest drivers for your Audio device after installing Windows 7 on your computer?

You will have to install the latest drivers for your Audio device. Visit the computer or the device manufacturers’ website and install the latest driver for your Audio Device. You may refer the below article that will give you information on ‘How to Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly’:

Before you burn the DVDs from the DVD Maker, start Movie Maker and then configure Movie Maker so that the incompatible video filter is not loaded. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click All Programs.

2. Select Windows Movie Maker. When Movie Maker starts, click Tools, and then click Options.

3. Click the Compatibility tab.

In the Filters section, click to clear the check boxes of any third-party video filters that are not required.

NOTE: Remove or temporarily disable third party CD writing software and try to add then try to create the DVD.

Also check if you have missing codecs.

Here is an article that will give you information on codecs:
