Windows 7 Calculator Order of Operations

With the new windows 7 calculator, it no longer accepts the standard order of operations. I understand the new calculator is more complex, and you are suppose to enter brackets to aid it, but it's completely different to all the other calculators I know (winxp, my desktop casio).

If you do something like "1 + 2 x 3 = ", in winxp and every other calculators it's 7, in windows 7 it's 9.

Also, can they fix it so the new calculator to accept standard windows UI function. Ctrl-W doesn't close the calculator application now.

I just double checked. This only affect "Standard" mode. In other mode such as "Scientific" it's working fine.

As you've already noted, it works fine in scientific mode. Where you are wrong is the assumption that this is new behaviour for Windows 7. The Windows calculator has always been broken in this way. Windows 7 finally fixes it, but only in the scientific and programmer modes.

I think it's because standard mode uses single step processes. 1+2=3 3x3=9.

How do we get Windows to fix this?  It is clearly incorrect as all other machines use the standard Order of Operations?  Can we request a fix?  Do they have a proper reporting service?  The only thing I could see was a USA 800 number which was useless as I am currently on a company field trip to Asia.
