Which Hot key disables startup items in Windows 7?

In Windows XP, holding down the Left "SHIFT" key after logging in prevented any programs in the startup folder from launching.

This does not work in Windows 7. Is there another way to do this?

Thanks

Trikster

Hi Trikster,

Are you using wireless keyboard?

The shift key does work with Windows 7 if you are trying to disable the startup items.

Here is an article which provides the same information:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff404259.aspx

Hope this information is helpful.

Amrita,

I came here looking for an answer as I have found that using Left Shift at logon does not keep items in the Startup folder from loading.
The article in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff404259.aspx deals with "Enable and Use TPM (Trusted Platform Module) Services". It has nothing to do with the user's question.

I'd appreciate it if you would find the correct link.

Thanks,

I have the same problem. Why did MS remove the left shift key trick? :(
