If this isn't in the right forum please tell me where to put it.
I'm trying to compose music for an upcoming project of mine, and I thought that if I had DirectMusic Producer, that it would be easier. (I know that it's deprecated and isn't supported, but that's fine.) However I noticed that a lot of sites don't have it and
that it's been deleted from here. I downloaded the DirectX SDK and I noticed it was there, but it wasn't a program (and I have no idea how to use an SDK) If anyone here can please tell me how to use an SDK or if anyone has a copy of DirectMusic Producer lying
around somewhere and if they can post a download link that would be really helpful. I don't want to keep seeing that it's been deleted, moved, etc. (That's always frustrating!)
Thank you in advance for any answers.

I had the same issue and created this thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-hardware/dead-download-link-for-directx-90b-sdk-extras/0e059472-a96d-41b9-9564-2e7a9a47aee9
If you look at my thread and click "Had this question too" maybe we'll get some more support.
I was linked to the SDK too which was not helpful.
It's a shame that they just recently deleted this program during 2012.
Google still finds the old DirectX 8.1 version when searching for DirectMusic Producer...
Download: DirectX 8.1: DirectMusic Producer - Microsoft
However, "DirectX 9.0b SDK Extras: DirectMusic Producer" is the latest version and most likely what you're looking for. This was the old Microsoft page it used to be hosted on: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=31246
The most recent 9.0b version from the Microsoft download page (before it was taken down) was a file named "dx90_directmusicproducer.exe" around 30MB in size.
Did this solve your problem?
Sorry this didn't help.
