Q: Vantage point software for GPS gets direct x error on windows 7 64 bit - compapility mode does not help

Trying to get Vantage Point software(for Magellan GPS)  to run on Windows 7 64 bit. Keep getting Direct x error message (running Direct X 11.0) Have tried several different compatibility modes with no success.


1)       Could you provide us the exact error message?

2)       Did it work fine before?


 I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.


Method 1: Try to run the Diagnosing basic problems with DirectX from the link below:


Method 2: Try to set your computer in Clean Boot state and check if the same issue occurs.

By setting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting step, follow Step 7 in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.


Additionally, get in touch with Vantage point software vendor and/or post your question in the Magellan support.
