Samsung SmarThru Office Software Scanning Not Working on Samsung SCX-4826FN MultiFunction Printer

Downloaded January 2011, most recent drivers and software for Samsung SCX-4826FN multifunction printer (MFP) for use on a new HP Pavilion dv7 laptop PC running Windows 7, 64 bit.  Printing is fine but using SmarThru Office program for scanning is a problem.  The scanning function is definitely working fine if accessed through the PC device manager.  SmarThru Office scanning window also allows pre-scanning to be done successfully...but the "scan" button is greyed out, not active.  Another sidelight:  the MFP has an option to do scanning & image saved to PC using the MFP control panel buttons -- this capability does not work on initial startup of the PC.  But, if the MFP properties are accessed via the Samsung device manager in Control Panel, then the MFP communicates with the PC and scanning can be done from the MFP control panel until the PC is shutdown again.

I would suggest you to try uninstalling the software and reinstalling it and check if it helps.

 

Else you may have to contact Samsung for more help.
