Photoshop CS3 and Windows 7

I am running Windows 7. Is there a solution to the compatibility issue between Windows 7 and Photoshop CS3? Each time I attempt to start Phototshop CS3, the box pops up with the following message:" Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." This problem has renderd photoshop unusable for me.  Please help.
