I am getting Runtime Errors when trying to use Roxio Creator 2011 (and also with a special Roxio Creator 10.3 Blu-ray that came with my Dell).

When I try to start an application in Creator 2011 like "Edit Photos" I get this: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime error! Roxio 2011\Photo Suite\Photo Suite 13. exe. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
The same applied to the "Media Capture" application and to "Edit Video." Upon closing the message box with the above error, I also had abox that said: "Runtime Error R6025 - pure virtual function call"

Any ideas.  Am I have a windows problem or a Roxio problem?

Answer

Hi Rustygp,

This type of error could be caused if runtime components of Visual C++ libraries are missing or because of third-party software or startup items.

Follow the methods listed below:

Method 1:

If the issue is caused due to missing Visual C++ libraries, you may download and install the Runtime components of Visual C++ libraries from the link below:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

Method 2:

Start the computer in a clean boot state to verify if any of the third-party programs or startup programs is causing the issue.

See How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in Step 7 in the above KB article.
