Error code Oxc000007b

Win7 Home Premium 64bit

Suddenly I am unable to open the following programs:

IE8, Firefox 3.6, ZoneAlarm Pro, MalwareBytes.

In each case I get Error Code Oxc000007b. I have tried restarting and changing user accounts.

I have done a full scan with MSE and it only identified RegCure as potentially problematic.

Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance.

-      What software changes did you make on the computer prior to the issue?


Follow the methods listed below:


Method 1:


Step 1: Boot into safe mode with networking and check if the issue persists.


See Advanced startup options (including safe mode) for instructions on booting into safe mode with networking.


Step 2: If the issue does not occur in safe mode,boot your system in a clean boot state (in normal mode) to troubleshoot the issue.

Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to put the computer to start as usual as mentioned in  Step 7 in the above KB article.


Method 2:


Perform system restore to a restore point prior to the issue and see if that fixes the issue.
