Error: "5013.3" appears on Norton 360, Base Filtering Service is missing

Error: "5013,3" appears on Norton 360 Version 6.0. When I go to fix the issue - following the insructions provided by NOrton, there is no base filltering component listed in my Services (local).

 

Original Title: how to replace the base filtering engine componet. Getting a norton error and when if follow the fix instructions base filltering is not listed in my service (loocal)

Have you made any recent hardware or software changes to the computer prior to this issue?

 

Check Windows Firewall status:

a)      Click Start, type Notepad in the Search box and then click Notepad in the programs list.

b)      Select the following text, right click the selected text, and then click Copy. Right-click anywhere in the Notepad window, and then click Paste.

sc config FwcAgent start= auto

net stop MpsSvc

net start MpsSvc

net stop KeyIso

net start KeyIso

net start Wlansvc

net start dot3svc

net start EapHostnet

net stop BFE

net start BFE

net start PolicyAgent

net start MpsSvc

net start IKEEXT

net start DcaSvcnet

net stop FwcAgent

net start FwcAgent

 

c)      In Notepad, click File, click Save As.

d)      Click the Save as type box, and then click All Files (*.*) and under the File Name text box give the filename as Repair.bat.

e)      In the left pane, select Desktop location, and then click Save.

f)       On the File menu, click Exit.

g)      On your desktop, right-click the Repair.bat file that you saved in step 5, and then click Run as Administrator.

h)      Important: If you are prompted for confirmation to stop a service, press Yes on the keyboard, and then press Enter.

i)        Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

j)        Try to start Windows Firewall again.

k)      If you can start Windows Firewall, delete the Repair.bat file. To do this, right-click Repair.bat, click Delete, and then click Yes.

I had the very same error, I just unistalled Norton 360 and I restart my PC and then I reinstalled it. Error fixed, if you do this make sure to click to reinstalled Norton 360.
