Hullo I am having a problem installing Sony's MediaGo (mediago_setup.exe) program after doing a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit operating system, yesterday.
I have tried to install varying VisualC++ libraries (VisualC++2005-vcredist_x86.exe including trying its' MicrosoftFixit50794.msi and VisualC++2008-vcredist_x64.exe with its own MicrosoftFixit50202.msi)
Here is the error dialogs complete: -
First error window
Error 1935 An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'policy.8.0.Microsoft.VC80CRT ,type="win32-policy" ,version ="8.0.50727.6195" ,publicKeyToken ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" ,processorArchitechture ="x86" , Please refer to Help and support for more information.
Then this second window after pressing okay radio button
The VisualC++2005 Redistributable has failed to install. Please consult Microsoft knowledge base at http://http://support.microsoft.com/kb/556085/ja
This site is a Japanese Microsoft site and it is from 2008 which means it is for Windows XP and Windows Vista machines and Keywords: kbpubmvp kbpubtypecca kbhowto KB556085
The link on the Sony site Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) the very bottom one, under the heading Troubleshooting. Is it possible that this problem, resembles the "Windows Update error 8000FFFF" , which was for Vista and required a registry Fix-It?
Nb:- Another issue that I had reason to contact Microsoft help desk about today, but alas the other fault I was enjoying (KB 2970228) has not made the program install even though it has been resolved.(smiling)
