Programs and features is missing half of the programs that I have installed

I installed Windows 7 in December and everything's working fine. I wanted to remove the VPN software and found that half of the programs that I installed are not listed in the program and features window. These programs won't install any other way. Any assistance is appreciated!

1.      Which are all the programs missing from the Programs and Features?

2.      Have any changes been made to your computer recently?

3.      Are you trying to uninstall any programs?

4.      Did you login as administrator?

5.      Are you able to run the program which is not listed in programs and features?

In the above kb article it mentions that it is for Windows XP but it also applies to Windows7 you can give it a try and check if it helps.
