0xc000007b error

"The application was unable to start correctly 0xc000007b"
I just recently performed a clean install from Win XP 32bit to Win 7 Home Premium 64bit.  The first time I tried to install I had everything set up how I wanted it, rebooted and got ntldr error after the post screen.  Did yet another clean install on HDD #2 (a pita to get the key code to activate a second time, had to call microsoft). Now I get this 'glitch'
So far the programs that I have affected are Firefox and Spybot.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled, no help.
Core i7 920, gigabyte ga-ex58-ud3r mobo, nvidia 9800gt.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks Marilyn
In the meantime I went ahead and wiped the HD and am putting Win 7 32bit on it.  Some day I'll give the 64 bit another try.
