window media player problem

i keep getting this ' the file wmploc.dll have a version number of 12.0.7601.17514 where 12.0.7601.18150 was expected . window media player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled ' . i tried to reinstal using turn window feature on and off but there is NOTHING to click on . please help . thank you 

Click Start, type turn windows features on or off

Hit Enter

Expand Media Features

Uncheck Windows Media Player

Click OK

Restart when prompted


Click Start, type turn windows features on or off

Hit Enter

Expand Media Features

Check Windows Media Player

Click OK

Restart when prompted

Try playing again.


If the problem persist:

Click Start
Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD
Click 'Run as Administrator'
At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

hi Andre ,

thks for the help but my problem is that after i enter into ' turn windows feature on or off ' , there is nothing in the box for me to uncheck or check .. im doing the sfc scan now .. will revert after scanning . thks

The Turn Windows features on or off takes some time to load, so maybe you need to wait a bit. If not create a new account and try again.

hi again ,

i have waited for it to finish loading but still empty box . nothing to uncheck or check . anyway the scan is done . here is what it says :

Window resources protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them .
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log . For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

What should i do now ? I cant even uninstall it .
