Switch from Mac to PC/Windows 7: how do I move my iPhoto library on a PowerPC Mac to a Windows 7 PC?
I'm a Mac... soon to be a PC? My Apple iBook G4 is in need of a replacement and I am thinking about switching to a Windows 7 laptop. There is virtually no information online about switching from a Mac to PC. Given all of MSFT's ads, I would have expected
My main concern is transferring my photos easily without having to reorganize everything. I currently use iPhoto and there is no version for the PC. I would appreciate any tips help with this process. Is there a good program similar to iPhoto that is recommended?
Any other tips or advice about switching in general would also be greatly appreciated.

After importing, will Windows Live Photo Gallery recognize the organizational structure that iPhoto had or will I have to create new folders and spend time re-organizing?
Unfortunately, you will have to spend some time reorganizing. If you had meta-data attached to the photos, Windows Live Photo Gallery will recognize it. If you currently have them organized in folders in OS X , it will make the organization process much easier
by copying them to the Pictures folder in Windows 7 and they will be automatically populated in Photo Gallery.
