Hi Olphen007,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers Community Forum!

In order to troubleshoot your issue, please provide additional information,

  1. What is the printer model?
  2. What was the update or KB article number?

First suggest you to uninstall and reinstall printers from the control panel and verify if it helps in resolving your issue.

Next suggest you to check for the dependency services by checking it in services.msc

To access services.msc

  • Click Start
  • Type in search box “Services.msc
  • Hit enter. Check for Print Spool service

The dependency services are:

Remote Procedure call (RPC)
- DCOM server Process Launcher
- EPC Endpoint mapper

If these services are not started, then you will not be able to

Suggest you to perform SFC scan in order to fix your issue. To perform the same follow the below mentioned steps;

Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.

2.    Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.
