Thanks for your feedback.

Click the "Resolve Online Now" button.  If it takes you to a Microsoft address, then it means that there was a system failure in Windows, and you need to follow these steps to re-activate windows:

http://www.megaleecher.net/Windows_7_Activation_And_Serial_Key#axzz32wT7wVbn

If it takes you to another site that looks like a windows site but has a weird URL and is filled with all kinds of odd spelling and grammatical errors, then it means your antivirus software failed and you have a ransomware virus on your computer.  In that case you need to run MajorGeeks rkill and Malwarebytes.

Hi,

I would like to let you know that activation pairs your product key with your hardware configuration and helps verify that your copy of Windows hasn't been used on more computers than the Microsoft Software License Terms allow. Usually, you need to activate Windows only once, unless you make a significant hardware change.

Genuine Windows, however, is a recurring process that checks your product key to make sure it's not blocked or being used on hardware that's different than what you were using when you activated Windows. If the product key is found to be non-genuine it's likely that the product key is either being used on another computer or is counterfeit.

The genuine, or validation, check is performed when your computer attempts to download optional updates from Microsoft. For example, when your computer downloads updates, Windows checks to see if your product key is valid. If it is, Windows on your computer is genuine, and you're eligible to receive the latest updates from Microsoft. If it's not, your computer is running non-genuine Windows.

Thanks for your feedback.

I started having this problem in January 2015.  Laptop preloaded with windows 7 64 bit.  No hardware/or software changes.  Norton 360 security package. I cannot get rid of the pop up and now all of the windows updates fail.  Norton said it is windows problem.  The product id shown in the computer properties section is invalid.  I have the product ID and I cannot get the system to change to the valid ID.  Windows indicates the product ID is activated and valid. However, the popup that is run to valid indicates the publisher is unknown.  This is a red flag.  It should say the publisher is Microsoft.  I ran diagnostic tool above.  I am at my wits end and getting closer a costly alternative which is to buy another product.  I guess this is how Microsoft makes money put a bad patch out there with a fix that doesn't run.  I would appreciate advice on a next step.  Here is the output from the diagnostic run.

Thanks for your feedback.

I get a Windows is Not running Genuine Window and it won't allow me to access the repair site. I have NOT been able to update for the past week or better and I looked into my update history and the last successful update was Oct. 24 2014. What is the problem? And, how do I fix this without taking it for a very expensive repair? I spent over $2k for this Asus with Home Premium Windows and I can't afford to go out and do it all over again!

IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS, OR IF IT'S A BIG DEAL,  I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE UPDATE PROPLEMS PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE
