It wouldn't matter how much memory was onboard once it was over 768MB. In any case, booting XP and any later version of Windows requires some other steps in order to avoid XP being destructive to the later version. XP's volsnap.sys VSS driver is incompatible
with later versions and will destroy VSS files for either Vista or 7. That means every time XP boots it will wipe out Windows 7's previous versions files, system restore points, backups and whatever else leverages VSS snapshots. See
