Difference between Windows 7 Product Key and Product I.D.

Purchased new HP laptop with Win7 Home Premium installed. During initial installation checked box for authenticate when online. Never entered my Product key and now two weeks later curious as to whether my windows has been authenticated. Went to Computer/system/properties to enter my key and found under Windows Activation:

Windows is Activated
Product I.D. xxxxx-oem-xxxxxxx xxx xx

The product I.D. number is different than my Windows Key tag on my pc.

My question is whether my Win7 has been authenticated or do i need to do something else to avoid problems after 30 days. Thanks in advnce.

Nothing to worry about.  Major computer manufacturers install a Windows 7 image using a special product key that is tied to the motherboard's BIOS. The Certificate of Authenticity (COA) affixed to your computer is there to certify that the Windows 7 operating system is installed.
