My hard drive crashed - trying to install Windows 7 Upgrade to new hard drive - product key not valid

Hi.

I upgraded my computer running Vista to Windows 7 with an upgrade disk - no problem.

My hard drive crashed so I now have a brand new hard drive in the computer.

I boot from the Windows 7 DVD but of course the product key is invalid because there is no operating system on the new hard drive.

Is there a way to get around this without having to install an operating system on my new hard drive first?

Activate Windows 7 manually:
1. Click Start, and in the Search box type :  slui.exe 4

2. Press ENTER on your Keyboard

3. Select your Country.
4. Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.
