How do I make my Windows 7 "Genuine"? They think I'm trying to install it on 2 seperate computers... but I just swapped Hard Drive and Motherboard!?!!
How do I make my Windows 7 "Genuine"? I purchased a non-upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium OEM and installed it on my system while I was working on some problems my computer was having. After I installed it, I decided that I needed to replace my motherboard
and hard drive. I replaced these two items and reinstalled Windows 7. Now, Microsoft thinks that I tried to install this copy on two systems and is telling me that "The product key you typed cannot be used to activate Windows on this computer. Error Code:
OxC004C008 The activation server determined that the specified product key could not be used."
This isn't a second computer. It's the same computer with a fresh hard drive and motherboard. How can I get Microsoft to recognize this and make this copy of Windows "Genuine"?
