Cannot install windows 7 64bit DVD from boot (A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing"

I have a unmodified Gateway computer model GM5632e utilizing the G33 express chipset from intel. I purchased windows 7 64bit from a store and tried installing it. everytime i get to the setup it gives the generic error: "Load Driver, A required CD/DVD drive.  Device driver is missing". i cant get anywhere else in the setup. I understand that there may be an issue with the SATA drivers. I am also sure im not the only one with this problem. any help is much much appreciated.
