Printers and Window 7

Purchased a new All iIn One F2480, tried to install, got error message.  Contacted HP tech support, they took command of computer, installed new driver/software from site.  Printer ran that same day.  Next day started computer got blue screen advising of error and suggestion to start in safe mode.  Contacted tech support again.  Uninstalled driver/software. Started from beginning and could not get set up.  After two days and about 5 1/2 hours on phone, cancelled installation.  Took that printer back, got another, model F4480 with disc that reads for Windows 7.  Started installation and got same error message as with first printer.  What next?  Help site was unable to help with first printer, can only guess won't help with this next one.  Old printer, model F4140 had no problem setting up, just plug in and go.  Just needed to replace because of envelope printing problems.  Any suggestions?
