Windows 7 family pack on eBay Genuine?

Hello,

I want to upgrade all the computer in my family's household (a mixed of Vistas and XPs) to Windows 7 before I go back to school in another state.  Unfortunately, the Windows 7 Family pack has been discontinued in the US but I was able to find packs that are sold for a premium over the original price on eBay.  Even though they are more expensive, they are still cheaper than getting individual licenses.

My worries is that the ones being sold on eBay is not genuine.  Being unemployed and having no income, this would be my last gift to my family so wanted them to be valid and genuine.  I tried to reach Microsoft to ask but was directed here.  Can anyone check to see if these are valid family packs?  I would probably bite the bullet and buy two packs.

According to the post, it comes along with a certificate of authenticity. The price is not too good to be true (which is an indication of counterfeit software) since it sells for a premium over the original cost.  What worries me is that the seller is somewhat new and there is no retail packaging.

If there is a good possibility that it is not genuine, I will probably not upgrade the computers.

Warmest regards,

-Gnimble

There's no way to know, for sure, until someone makes the purchase
and tries to activate it.

Just looking at the picture and description, thought, I'd conclude that
this is almost certainly *NOT* a legitimate sale. Where's the original
packaging? Why isn't the seller including both 32-bit and 64-bit
installation media? Is it because he's already sold the 32-bit media to
someone else? (Both would use the same Product Key.)

One should be very careful buying any software on eBay, as eBay makes
no prior effort to ensure that such sales are legitimate. The problems
stem from two different sources, but have the same results: the buyer
gets ripped off. A great many people don't fully understand the terms
of the license they own, and don't understand that they cannot
legitimately resell it, and - worse still - there are a great many
sellers who do know that they're selling bogus licenses. eBay reacts
only when someone files a complaint, and then all that really happens,
especially in the case of the many deliberate fraudsters, is the seller
of the pirated software returns using a different alias, to continue
selling illegitimate licenses.

Frankly, I think you'd be safer here:

Answer
100% bogus!  Do not purchase software from an auction web site!  The Ebay seller is being dishonest with the item description and chances are very good the software is non-genuine!  When purchasing software, purchase it my a trusted and reliable vendor...eBay software sellers do not often fit that requirement.
