After right  clicking Properties, I don't see a Details tab.  How do I turn on the Details tab?

1.  Right-click on a file and select Properties

2.  Take and post a screenshot of the Properties dialog that you see.  Follow the directions here:  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_other-windows_programs/how-to-include-a-screenshot-in-your-post/2594b08e-32a3-476a-85a6-b021181be7e4

Here is a screen shot of what I see.  No Details tab when right clicking and then left click on properties.

That's because you're right-clicking on a folder rather than a file.

AFAIK, there is no way in Windows 7 to add a comment to a folder.  You can, however, create a desktop.ini file that will display a comment when you hover your mouse over the folder.  Or you can create a shortcut to the folder and add comments to the shortcut.

See https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-add-description-field-for-a-Folder-in-Windows-7-File-Explorer

Catch:  If you look at your folders in the normal way, using the Windows 7 "Library" function, you won't see the "Customize" tab on the folders.  You have to manually navigate to the desired folder in order to see the "Customize" tab.  See https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/984ac9b7-5448-4bf5-bc54-2ac6e78e1aea/folder-customize-tab-missing?forum=w7itprogeneral

I have found another solution that I am going to explore.  Apparently there is software called Stylefolder that will allow comments to be attached to a folder.
