Windows did not shut down properly after a blue screen on shutting down

Around 50% of the time I shut down the computer I get a blue screen which generates a file in C:\windows\minidump. On restarting I get a prompt that "Windows did not shut down properly" and gives me the option to check online for a solution. It is a new computer and I suspect is to do with an update or installed piece of software, but given the hundreds of updates and pieces of software, it will be hard determining which is the source problem.

I can see others with similar but not exactly the same problem, but I cannot find a clear solution.

Beyond a system restore I am stuck!

Also, the minidump files showed an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a) stop error referencing the STREAM.SYS.

That may indicate the actual driver causing the crash may be related to a webcam.

One such software installed is SplitCam (installs the splitcam.sys).

Try uninstalling SplitCam and see if the errors resolve.
