Hi,

1.      Which Fixit have you tired?

2.      Were you able to install updates earlier?

3.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?

Please follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Follow the steps provided in the following article and check.

Windows Update error 80070422

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Windows-Update-error-80070422

Method 2: Run a full system virus/malware scan.

I’d recommend you to run a full system virus and malware scan and check.

Method 3:

Perform the steps listed below and check.

a. Click Start, type Notepad in the Start search box and hit Enter.

b. Copy the following text and paste into Notepad:

sc config wuauserv start= auto

sc config bits start= auto

sc config DcomLaunch start= auto

net stop wuauserv

net start wuauserv

net stop bits

net start bits

net start DcomLaunch

c. Save the file with .bat extension (for instance repair.bat) on the desktop.

d. Right-click the .bat file and click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.

The above steps would start the required services.
