No internet connection for live TV in Windows Media Center

Original Title - Media Centre

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista and now find that I cannot access TV on my PC.  I am able to see all of the previously recorded shows but cannot get the guide, watch live TV or program recordings.  I keep getting a message that says I must have an Internet connection but I do and receive my internet service and TV from the same provider.  Please help!

Answer

Hi Heron House,

1. What is the complete error message you are getting?

As you are getting a message that an Internet connection is not detected, it might be because Media Center is having trouble detecting it. Try going through the Set up Internet Connection wizard and check if the issue resolves -
a. On the
Windows MediaCenter start screen, scroll to Tasks, click  Settings, and click  General.
b. Now clickWindows MediaCenter Setup, click Set up Internet Connection, and then follow the instructions.
