windows 7 boots to safe mode and won't let you boot out. Evidence of intrusion.

When I booted windows 7 this morning it went straight to safe mode and I'm still trying to get out of it. I have tried restore all the way back to 3/27/13 and tried Last Known Good Configuation and MS Fixit. Also scanned with Malwarebytes and MS essentials. Finally got it back to where it looks normal and allows me to use the internet, but still says "safe mode" in all 4 corners and won't allow me to turn on real time protection. Any one else experience this problem?

Have you checked System Configuration Utility?

Startup items? Perhaps invesigate with Autoruns.

 

Malware may be responsible for the safe boot loop. Since no single antimalware can be 100% effective in detection, consider trying a few more second opinion scanners.

What "FixIt' did you use?

 

FYI, MSE "Real-time Protection" not available in "Safe Mode"

What "evidence of intrusion" do you have?

 

The fact that the PC will only boot to Safe Mode doesn't mean that the PC is infected. It means that there's a problem -- either hardware or software that is preventing normal boot.

Note that MSE real time protection cannot run in Safe Mode.
