Msvcrt.dll Error

Could not restore msvcrt.dll from the recycle bin, wasn't there;  what program provides this file? Could not open system restore and could not run the original software that came with the computer? Lost!!!

Exactly when/where do you get the error msg, and what is the exact msg?

What does "could not run origonal software" mean exactly?

And in future do not start a new thread, but respond to your origonal thread

Sorry I'm new at this.  I am receiving the message when I try to open my Verison Wireless Access Manager, which is how I get my internet through a prepaid USB device, Norton Security Program, My printer, anything I try to open I get this message: The program cannot open because msvcrt.dll is missing from your computer. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem. About the software, I tried to rerun the Software Disc that came with the computer when I purchased it.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

The System File Checker tool scans system files and replaces incorrect versions of the system files by using the correct versions.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

a. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.

b. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

c. Type “sfc /scannow “without quotes and then press ENTER.

When the scan is complete, verify if you can find the disk defragmenter is back on the computer. Access the link to know more information about System File Checker tool
