Question

Q: Windows 7 System Restore problem

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. Up till recently, as far as I know, I've been able to restore from restore points but recently I had problems installing a program and was unable to uninstall it. I tried system restore. On reboot I got a message "System restore failed to extract the original copy of the directory from the restore point". I've tried other restore points but still get the same message. You can see the actual message window here

I've run the system file checker with no problems found and checked that Volume Shadow Copy is running and starts automatically. I've also tried switching SR off and then on but it makes no difference.

I'd welcome any suggestions please. Thank you.
