Windows restricts GMax for reading registry!

Hello!

I have installed GMax (part of Microsoft FSX SDK) on Windows 7 SP1 -64 bit and I have a security problem:
gmax dlls (gmax_MaxUtils.gup &  gmax_FSModelExp.dle) cannot access windows 7 registry

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\microsoft games\Flight Simulator X SDK" "SetupPath"

Even running as admin, functions fail to read that key and thus some features og GMax-FSX SDK are failing.
I also tried disabling UAC but same problem.

Could it be possible that the key is stored somewhere else, like a sort of VirtualSpace registry (I realized Windows was storing config files in VirtualSpace and GMax was confused)

Thanks so much in advance!

Posting the verbatim error message might make things a little clearer. It might also be a good idea to open a Command Prompt and run these three commands so that you know if this is really a permission issue:

reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Scan" /v CacheFile

reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\microsoft games\Flight Simulator X SDK"

reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\microsoft games\Flight Simulator X SDK"  /v SetupPath

Hi Oberwald:

Thanks so much in advance, I followed your directions and keys were there.

However I tracked GMax with Process Monitor and found that when GMax asked for
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\microsoft games\Flight Simulator X SDK

Process monitor reflected:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\microsoft games\Flight Simulator X SDK

So I copied the original data to Wow6432Node and it works fine now.

Thanks again!
