Question

Q: How do I delete Administrator Account in WIndows 7

I just upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7 on an Acer Laptop. I want to delete the Administrator account from the User Accounts but can't. I have carefully followed the instructions but when I select the Administrators Account there is no option to delete it. Note: There are 2 User Accounts: one under my first name and the other is Administrator. Both were originally created under Vista and the I had to run a Command to create the Administrator account -- maybe this has something to do with not now being able to delete it from the Control Panel.

Thanks for the help.

That's correct. The built-in Administrator account CANNOT be deleted.

The standard security practice is to rename the built-in Administrator
account, set a strong password on it, and use it only to create another
accounts for regular use, reserving the Administrator account as a "back
door" in case something corrupts your regular account(s).
