Drive encryption

I have windows 7 Home premium and would like to encrypt my drive.  Is my only option to upgrade to Ultimate?

It is your only option if you want to do this natively with Windows' EFS. However, TrueCrypt is free and excellent and will work with Home Premium. Please, please, please take the time to read all the documentation thoroughly so you understand it completely before encrypting anything. Lots of people post in these forums asking how to decrypt their data because they didn't understand what they were doing and didn't take proper precautions. There is no backdoor to TrueCrypt or EFS encryption.
