Can't rid "This Program is Turned Off (Windows 7 Defender)" Msg at startup
At every boot, I get the same message that Defender is turned off. I click on the blue sentence to turn the program on and it tries, but cannot. I have MS Essential running with no issues. What has to be done to stop the Defender is turned off message
at every startup? Defender application itself will not open so I cannot check anything inside of it.
Is there a way to reset Defender to its factory settings or remove it and reinstall it without reinstalling the OS?
Any advice would be helpful. I've already checked the services running place and found it is set to automatic.

If you have a Windows® 7 boot product CD, then you can put it in your
CD-Driver and restart the PC. As the “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..”
appears press Enter.
Now as you enter the Windows® 7 boot program, click Repair your computer.
The System Recovery Options will appear, now, choose System Restore.
If you want to keep all the files, please perform a backup before performing
this action. A better recommendation is that you backup everything and re-install
Windows® 7 once again, and then download the MSE and install it. This shall
do the trick for you.
