I am having a problem with media player of windows 7.

The problem is,

When i play a video, even sample default of windows video(names wildlife), it only plays the sound(music)but no video.

Same is the problem with commonly used formats of videos (neighter from CD,DVD Nor from Hard drive saved videos),which can normally run on Windows xp and 7.

Plz resolve the issue.

Hi,

This could be happening on your computer because the “Now playing” window has been hidden on the media player. This can be fixed by un-hiding it. Here are the instructions.

Method 1: On the bottom right of the media player, to the most right of the volume option, there will be an option called “switch to now playing”. Play a video and click on this option to un-hide the “Now playing” window.

If this still does not help you, you can run the windows media player troubleshooter to fix this by itself. Refer the below article for more help with this issue.

Method 2: Uninstalling and Reinstalling the Windows Media Player:

Step 1: Uninstalling the Windows Media Player:
 1. Go to Start and in the search type "Turn Windows features On or Off".
 2. Click on "Turn Windows features On or Off".
 3. Browse to the Media Features and uncheck the mark in front of Windows Media Player.
 4. Restart the computer

Step 2: Reinstalling the Windows Media Player:
 1. Go to Start and in the search type "Turn Windows features On or Off".
 2. Click on "Turn Windows features On or Off".
 3. Browse to the Media Features and place a check mark in front of Windows Media Player.
 4. Restart the Computer.

Hope this information helps you!
