Volume goes to max

My volume control keeps going to max every time I lower it. Can anyone tell me how to fix that?

Hi News53,

a. How’re you trying to reduce the volume? Is it via a multimedia keyboard or manually as mentioned in this article?

b. Are you using a laptop or a desktop computer?

c. What’s the make and model of the laptop/desktop?

Let’s try changing the Volume mixer settings and see if that changes the behavior.

·          Open Volume Mixer by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then, under Sound, clicking Adjust system volume.

·          Move the slider up to increase the volume.

I’d recommend you to refer the following Microsoft article and follow the steps mentioned and check if it helps in fixing the issue:

Hope this helps.
