Trying to play DVD on Windows Media Player: "Update Video Card?"

Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.

How can I work this DVD

Thanks ;)

Hello Jaxtermaka, Matt D. Nels and nb44wwrc,

You may try updating the video card driver to the latest Windows 7 diver provided by the PC manufacturer if available.  You may also try installing a DVD decoder pack as certain DVDs or videos in the MPEG-2 format will not play without the required decoder installed.

Also, Windows 7 Home Premium and higher editions of Windows 7 include the necessary DVD decoder to play standard DVDs.

If you have Starter or Home Basic Edition of Windows 7 installed, a required DVD decoder is not included. A 3rd party decoder pack will need to be installed for DVD playing capabilities.  For more information on plug-ins for Windows Media Player, please see the links below:  You may also check directly with the software vendor for a plug-in that is compatible with Windows Media Player 12.

Below are also a few threads with additional information regarding installing a DVD decoder or plug-in for Windows Media Player 12.

I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you,
