No sound after restart with IDT HD Audio CODEC in Windows 7.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium with the IDT HD Audio Codec (v. 6.10.0.6217).

After I restart my computer it does not play the shutdown sound, and plays nothing at all when it is completely restarted. I have to go into the "Advanced Audio Controls" of the sound card and click "test speakers" to get the sound started again. After this, the sound seems to work just fine. It is not a deal-breaker, but is very inconvenient to have to do this each time I restart. Is there any way to fix this issue?

EDIT: It seems there are only IDT drivers directly from Dell, as they decided to allow that only. There are no drivers available for download at the IDT website. When I checked the Dell's website, the driver they have listed as the most up-to-date is, in fact, the one I already have installed. Is anyone else having this issue that can help me with a workaround?

Uninstall the HD Audio Codec  (v. 6.10.0.6217).

They're KNOWN to cause issues, especially in Dells.

Here's more info on the same:

Uninstall and use the normal audio drivers as explained in the above article.
