Issues w/Spotify - 'Spotify has stopped working, Windows is working on the problem'

original title: Issues w/Spotify

Downloaded Spotify free version and after about 30 seconds of listening to a song, I get the message "Spotify has stopped working, Windows is working on the problem" Also, when i try to search in spotify, it shuts down with no notice.  I've searched for answers to this problem and have tried some solutions that have worked for others, but it's still happening.

I've looked through several threads on Spotify and have done everything that the community has recommended to no avail.  That's why I'm here.  Thought some Windows experts might have some suggestions.  Thanks for responding.

I'm afraid I have nothing else to offer. After looking at numerous threads, this seems like a common problem with them.

Hopefully someone will come along with more knowledge.
