I have no audio after installing Windows 7 service pack1

After updating to Windows 7 service pack 1 I no longer have sound. My speakers are connected to the SPDIF out (COAX) on my motherboard not the Hi Def audio device that Windows detects. I haven't used my sound card for a long time since I use the better COAX connection on my motherboard. I'm running a ASUS Crosshair motherboard with a Logitech 5.1 speaker system. I never had any problems before updating to Windows 7 service pack 1. I can do a system restore and get my COAX connection to play sound again but my computer won't be up to date. What can I do to get my speakers working again?
