Cannot complete windows media center setup. IR Reciever not detected.

Hello, I have a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1950 USB card and want to use it with windows media center to watch and record tv. My setup is the card is connected to digital set top box via composite cables. It has a remote and an ir blaster of it's own but apparantly this is not good enough for media center. Is there a way to bypass the ir reciever check so I can watch and record tv in media center? I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Thanks.

Answer
Answer
Savan, without an IR receiver and blaster cable (not to mention the guide from
the provider) Media Center won't be able to change the channel on the set top
box to record TV. And he will need the guide from his provider to schedule
recordings.
