Help with Windows Media Center

Hello, I am currently running Windows 7 and have Windows Media Center where I watch and enjoy TV shows.  Unfortunately, my cable company, Comcast, has required that customer will have to use a Digital Adapter in order to continue watching.  With the adapter, I have to keep Windows Media Center on channel 3 and control the channel with the remote that came with the adapter.

Due to this change, it is more difficult to record TV shows in Windows Media Center.  I really enjoy the way this version of Windows Media Center records and files the shows.  But, with this digital adapter I cannot.

I have a HP compute with an external HP TV Tuner.  The Comcast digital adapter does have an "IR in" hole where I can connect an IR something into it.  My IR Receiver that I got with the computer has 2 holes in the back.  Not sure what to do.

I would like to configure the system where I can use Windows Media Center like I did before the Comcast digital adapter came into my life.

Can someone help.

Roger
