What does this error mean - do I have to adjust any settings and how do I prevent it happening in the future?

1.      When do you get the error message, offline or online?

I received the error message as per the screen shot. I was online at the time. The Windows Explorer I am referring to is where you search for files – not Internet Explorer.

2.       Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

I have been having issues with my USB External Hard Drive. Other than that just MS Word 2007 crashing every time I copy and paste some data from the internet to a Word document.

I am not too sure about running Microsoft products. My back up is not working wither as it is skipping a file

Skydrive causing issues with my backup - Error message - C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\SkyDrive. Error:(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))

I had an issue with the USB External Hard Disk Drive asking for me to scan it – I had it accidentally disconnect.

Weird...I'm running Windows 10 AE and just got this error.

I've never had Explorer crash like that before...seems kine of weird for the shell to give an error like that, and vaguely worried it means I'm infected with something :-/

I had to end up doing a clean install.

That seemed to iron out some of the issues.

Most of the issues are unfortunately still with my lap top.

I found most of the articles helpful, but everyone's situation is different. Best indeed to post another thread.

I attempted googling and searching the troubleshooting section of this website.

My theory is if you do not feel comfortable is changing the registry, contact support online.

My last resort was a clean install - that was painful for a novice like myself.

I may have to continue his thread or mark as an answer.
