Microsoft Money 2005

I'm running Microsoft Money 2005 in XP on my desktop Pc, I've just purchased a new laptop running Windows 7 and have networked these. Can I install Money 2005 onto the Windows 7 laptop without problems ? If so, How ? and then can I access the mymoney file on the XP computer over the network for use on the new windows 7 laptop ? thus be able to run money on both computers but keep mymoney files inc backup on the XP computer(I've an external drive connected to this Pc which I then backup all my data).

Your Money 2005 disk will not install the latest, updated version of Money 2005 and Money 2005 can no longer be updated online. The version installed by your disk will not be able to read your .mny data file.

If you are in the UK, install http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26915.

If using the International English version of Money 2005, install http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26922.

If in the US, install Money Sunset http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/athome/microsoft-money.aspx.

Money expects its data file to be on the local machine. You can use SyncToy http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=15155 to synchronise Money data file versions (and other files) on different machines.
