how to fix very slow windows 7 shutdown 2 1/2 min to close

when i shutdown my computer ,it takes at least 2 to 3 minutes to close ,how do i fix that,please help.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Communities.  From the problem description, I understand that the computer takes a long time to shutdown.  Correct me I have misunderstood the issue.

 

1.        What is the make and model of the computer?

2.        Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

 

Let us follow some troubleshooting methods and check if that helps.

Method 1: Disconnect any non-essential external devices and restart the computer. Check to see if the issue persists.

 

Method 2: Open the System Maintenance troubleshooter

 Method 3: Perform a Clean Boot to see if there is any third-party software conflict as clean boot helps to eliminate software conflicts.

If the game works well by disabling non-Microsoft services, then you may follow the check to determine which program is causing this issue.
Note:  After troubleshooting, make sure to place the computer back to normal mode.

 

 

Also, check event viewer for any event logs.
