How to do a windows repair without a disc on Windows 7

I thought you could repair windows by booting the computer using the windows installation cd. I do not have a disc. My Dell came with win7 hp installed and I did and anytime upgrade to win7 professional, so all I have is the card with the product key number on it. Would I just click on the anytime upgrade in the start menu and input the producy key or wil MS think I'm trying to install it on another computer?

Hello phoenixmark,

You might have overlooked how to create a repair disk in SpiritX's post above.

See:
How to Create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc - Free (Must be made on a
Windows 7 computer running the same 32 or 64 bit.)
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html

A Installation Disk can also be made to use for Repair. Of course you would
use your own COA (Product Key).

Windows 7 (English) with Service Pack 1

Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) - X17-58997

Windows 7 Professional (x64) - X17-59186

Windows 7 Ultimate (x86)* - X17-59463
