If you are talking about the regular backup, yes but finding the file(s) may be fun.
Here is an example of the path to a folder in one of my regular backups:
T:\SEVEN\Backup Set 2009-08-16 190001\Backup Files 2009-08-16 190001\Backup files 42.zip\C\Users\7\Downloads

If you mean to delete from the System Image, I think you can do that too, but it will be a little tougher.
Here is where one of mine is:
T:\WindowsImageBackup\Seven\Backup 2009-11-23 070012
The file itself is called e3b0f2bf-XXXX-11dd-XXXX-806e6f6e6963.vhd

The System Image is a VHD file (Virtual Hard Disk) that can be mounted within Windows and seen as a drive.
Run diskmgmt.msc from the Run window and click Action>Attach VHD then browse to that file.
The virtual drive will show up in your list of disks as a blue one.

Now you can browse into it and delete to your heart's content.
Don't delete any system files or it will be unusable for restoration purposes.
Also, remember to detach it when you are done.
