Q: Computer Start up problem - won't allow me to open programs until i see the network connected

comp starts up to desktop (windows 7) but won't allow me to open programs until i see the network connected and a whirling noise as though one of the disks has started up, this can take up to 30 mins. If youtry and type ctrl/alt/del it cant process the code and returns an error. its though only half the computer is awake?

How many hard drives do you have?

Also try to run the SFC  /SCANNOW  command. This will check and repair if necessary any critical Windows system files.
