100% High cpu usage on windows 7, i think its iexplorer.exe causing this, Need help

I noticed for the past few months, that my cpu meter goes all the way to 100, whenever i use iexplorer. i switched to safari after and it was super fast, then it got worse so i ditched safari and now use internet explorer. but  my cpu meter goes way up occassionally and causes my laptop cooling fan to come on. any help or suggestions would be really appreciated

 

this problem also seems to be affecting my Ram , one time my ram usage was a 100%

Click Start or tap the Windows key and select All Programs. Navigate to Accessories, System Tools and select Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

If this solves the problem, you will need to get into Internet Explorer's Tools, Manage Add-ons utility and start disabling items. Before you start that process, you may want to run a full system scan with MalwareBytes to see if you have adware or malware clogging up the works.

Which version of Internet Explorer?

The advice regarding Add Ons is very relevant.

What anti-virus software is installed? What firewall are you using?

It is always sensible in this situation to run a check for malware

Boot the computer to safe mode with networking and download and install Malwarebytes (freeware version for home users only), update definitions and run in safe mode. Disable other security software whilst you are doing scans.

Download and run SuperAntiSpyware (Free Edition)

Some malware is now installing proxy server entries redirecting internet connections. If you encounter this problem see Step 2 in the link which follows:
